Who doesn’t love deliciously soft and gooey cinnamon rolls? Well, my hungry friends, I don’t think anyone could possibly have answered negatively to the previous statement, and with this delicious recipe, you don’t have to feel guilty for indulging in this breakfast favorite.
Ingredients
3 cup warm water
6-8 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/4 tablespoons yeast
1/3 cup honey
3/4 tablespoons salt
1/3 cup oil (coconut oil is a great healthy option!)
1 egg
Honey
Cinnamon
Raisins (optional)
Mix warm water, 3 cups of flower, honey and yeast. Mix for two minutes and then cover and let rise for 15 minutes.
Add salt, oil and egg and mix for 2 minutes. Using a dough hook, began adding flour until dough forms together, and no longer sticks to the sides of the bowl. Kneed for 10 minutes.
Remove the dough and divide into thirds. Roll one of the thirds into a rectangle, about 16 inches long by 10 inches wide, and drizzle honey and sprinkle cinnamon (and raisins if desired) over the surface. Starting at the back, roll the dough forward towards you until it forms a cylinder. Using a cheese slicer, or thread, cut the loaf into eight pieces and place them in a lightly greased cake tin. Repeat this process for the remaining two pieces of dough.
Let rise in a warm place for 25 minutes while you preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Next, carefully place the rolls in the oven; if you bump or jostle them too much they will deflate and bake for 25 minutes.
Drizzle with honey and enjoy!
Oh wow how awesome!! I gotta try this!! Sceeenshooting this for later.
