Blackhead Removal

Lemon and baking soda

We all know those pins on Pinterest that entice viewers with promises of whiter teeth, hair removal/prevention, and better skin. Well, I am here to get to the bottom of those lofty claims and tell you which ones truly work.

Recently, while washing my face, I was examining my pores and noted how many dreaded blackheads had taken up residency on my nose. Fortunately, the very next day, I came across a pin promising magical blackhead removal abilities (as seen in the photo above).

Now the results in the picture are very alluring, so I presented the concept to my crack team, a.k.a my brother, sister, and brother-in-law, and asked them how they would feel about being test subjects. Well, of course they agreed, I mean who doesn’t want to have glowing, blackhead-free skin?

We procured the ingredients… all two of them.

We went about the lengthy process of combining the ingredients… Okay so it’s really not that lengthy, but allow me to  make it sound cooler.

Step One: Cut the lemons in half.

Step two: Squeeze them in a mug (shout out to New Orleans Café Du Monde).

Now after your hands get tired of squeezing, you can always make your brother do it. (Warning: he may insist on being shirtless.)

Step three: Mix in the Baking Soda until it creates a thick paste.

Step four: Document how excited your volunteers are!

Step five: The boys will need to do something manly to make themselves feel better about having face masks done.

Step six: Apply a healthy amount of paste to their/your noses.

Step seven: Take more photos while you wait twenty minutes for it to do its “thang”.

Is it done yet?

And the results…..you be the judge.
